Le Prix Mythopoeic (États-Unis)
Les Mythopoeic Awards sont les prix décernés par la Mythopoeic Society depuis 1971. Cette organisation est dédiée à l'étude de la mythopoeia, de la fantasy et la littérature mythologique.
Ces prix récompensent les œuvres de fantasy et les essais rédigés dans l’esprit des oeuvres de J.R.R. Tolkien, C.S. Lewis et Charles Williams. Ils sont décernés chaque année lors de l'Annual Mythopoeic Conference, aussi nommée Mythcon, qui se tient en Californie. Ils sont un des seuls prix littéraires internationaux exclusivement réservé à la fantasy.
Les prix sont attribués sur la base des votes des membres de la Mythopoeic Society à travers le monde.
Depuis 1991, le prix est divisé en deux catégories : le Mythopoeic Fantasy Award for Adult Literature et le Mythopoeic Fantasy Award for Children's Literature.
De plus, deux essais sont récompensés chaque année pour l'étude qu'ils proposent. L'un qui a pour sujet J.R.R Tolkien, C.S. Lewis ou Charles Williams et l'autre dédié à d'autres auteurs suivant la tradition des Inklings ou plus généralistes sur les thèmes du mythe et de la fantasy.
