Qui pour succéder aux pointures Michael Chabon et Ursula K. Le Guin ?
La sélection reste ouverte pour les romans, elle est composée d’écrivains encore jamais récompensés par le prix et se retrouve dénuée de ses auteurs fétiches comme Lois McMaster Bujold ou Jack McDevitt. La fantasy stricto sensu ne domine pas, si ce n’est Flesh and Fire, mais part belle est faite à des auteurs qui, à l’instar de Miéville ou VanderMeer, ont refondu les frontières de l’imaginaire ces dernières années.
Les vainqueurs seront dévoilés lors de la réunion de la Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America, du 13 au 16 mai 2010 en Floride.
