Le World Fantasy Award (États-Unis)
Créé en contrepoint aux prix Hugo et Nebula, jugés par trop orientés SF, ce prix est remis à l'occasion d'une convention annuelle propre à la Fantasy - même si les choix ci-dessous tendent beaucoup vers l'horreur et le fantastique-, qui se déroule fin octobre depuis le milieu des années 70.
Il récompense des carrières, un illustrateur, un roman, et deux types de nouvelles selon leurs longueurs : Novella et Short Fiction. On trouve également un prix pour les anthologies et un autre pour les recueils. Enfin deux prix spéciaux, non repris ici, distinguent un professionnel et un amateur pour un travail non lié à un ouvrage particulier.
Comme vous pouvez le découvrir ci-contre, jusqu'en 2016, la récompense prenait la forme d'un buste de H.P. Lovecraft, par Gahan Wilson.
